Surface Texture - Ceramic Vessels by Coraleigh Alice
Surface Texture is an exploratory mission into the possibilities of visual, tactile and olfactory texture. Each set in this series is comprised of three vessels which describe the steps in this journey. Some sets are all one colour but vary greatly in tactile texture. Others feel the same but look different. Some have the lingering perfume of their creation; wood smoke and beeswax gently radiate from some pieces. Whatever the differences, the sets speak with and to each other, the pieces symbolise a discussion of nuances.
Set of three assorted orbish hand sized vessels.
Made from wild clay and glazed with Japanese green glaze.
Actual vessels will differ from images due to the extreme variability of the hand making process. However, they will be of roughly the same size and shape and a fairly close match in colour. As we use wild clay, sometimes there can be weird stuff in it which can affect the colour of the final product.
